At check-in, if it is a one-way ticket, they will want to see proof of onward travel as they are under the duty to ensure that passengers have the correct documents. I assume you will only be getting a 21 day visitor visa, so you really should have your onward travel sorted out. I would book an onward ticket now, there are plenty of cheap flights available if you book early enough.
