I have a merchant account. I have run a few transactions through it so far this year for my business. Every month when I get the statement and see the percents deducted for "non-qualified" spend, I gain more and more appreciation for the people who pay me on-time with stacks of cash. I don't even want to know what the fee will be for me to run one of my own credit cards through the terminal. I also feel a little guilty when I pay other small merchants with a business SPG Amex, but if they ask me for cash or a check, I will give it to them because I understand.
