A couple months ago, USA citizens in front me entering Argentina at EZE were asked to show their itineraries, ticket receipts, and hotel reservation confirmations.

I carry printouts because electronic devices can be lost/stolen, get dead batteries, or otherwise malfunction. A few pieces of paper aren't a lot to carry just in case.
