I flew this flight in February this year, was actually a very nice flight. As it is a late departure (10pm Dallas time), supper is served, then the lights are dimmed for sleep. I recall that the meal service still was not finished until 90 minutes after takeoff, but plenty of time to sleep. Pyjamas and amenity kits were given out before take off, and most people changed before takeoff. I was in one of the non refurbished 747s, in the First section, so toilets were not an issue. Breakfast was served about 2 1/2 hours out of Brisbane, although snacks could be ordered at any time. Upon landing in Brisbane, I raced to the lounge for a shower (very nice) then a nice cup of coffee and a short wait before reboarding for the short trip to Sydney. A light brunch is fed on this trip, I really would not have wanted a full breakfast again.
Despite the length of the trip, it was still a very nice flight, although I would probably not be saying this if I was in economy! Enjoy the trip, the refurbished 747s are quite nice, and the bedding down service starting next year for Dallas will improve this. If you are by yourself and have a choice of seats, the single seats at the windows in row 5 are tops! (did this one from LA in August)
