The less govenment interference in my decisions the better, I say.

but for the life of me I can't see any way any how this could be construed as government interference in your decisions.

I await enlightenment

Cheers,
I remain in need of revelation. I can see nowhere where I said that
I don't understand the government is doing this to help booking decisions
My statement was I can't see any way any how this could be construed as government interference in
your decisions. It may be government interference in your right to do the math and make all the calculations yourself without being told the answer beforehand. But as you say that you always look at the final price then this isn't an issue for you. It doesn't help you. Nor does it hinder you (except in your right to do the sums without knowing the answer in advance - you can still do the sums should you wish).
This policy would make zero difference to
your decision making if you continue to do the sums yourself as you do now.
It helps those who may not be as economically sophisticated/experienced as your self - is that what you object to?
