At least that's not as bad as if you click on "change" flights and just search for any alternatives, then with no notice your whole ticket may be nuked, with no refund of miles or money, and no notification online, by phone or e-mail...you just may show up to the airport and find out you are not flying anywhere, and all your miles and cash is gone. And if you ask DL, they will claim that you chose to cancel it for no refund of anything. And if you do notice and try to get it reinstated, chances are that DL will claim that they can't do so.
