Early Check-in charge?
I saw the following under the "Announcements" for a Westin:
Early Arrival Policy
We are pleased to offer early check-in based on availability. Early arrivals from 10am to 3pm will be charged 50% of the current room rate. Before 10am, the full room rate applies. To guarantee early arrival, we ask that guests reserve the night prior.
I don't recall ever seeing anything like that for any hotel at which I have ever stayed, Starwood or otherwise. It just strikes me as obnoxious. I realize that if I show up at 1:00, the room might not be ready. Nevertheless, it seems like common courtesy to offer the room if it is available. Is this common across Starwood properties?
