Thank you all for your quick responses! Sounds like I won't get bumped just because someone decides to pay full fare for my paid upgraded seat (which could happen when I'm waitlisted for a free upgrade.)

Also good to know that I will earn miles. I wasn't sure whether introducing some award elements into the itinerary would render the whole thing mile-less.
