The only concern is the IRS, because frankly merchant accounts and CCs are a dime a dozen and abusing (and yes, it is abuse) this will not breach any criminal laws other then the T&C of the merchant or credit accounts; however if one keeps all their receipts whether CC or gift card (yeah I know where this is going) then perhaps even the IRS can have a laugh at this.
