I did my second segment on the 787 yesterday from IAH to LAX. I was in seat 4L which is the bulkhead window of the second BF cabin. Standard BF seat with extra space in the foot-well in front. Angled line of sight into the brightly lit & noisy galley which would have been annoying had I been on an overnight flight. I do not recommend seats 4K/L for long flights if you want to rest.
This was my second flight on the UA 787 and I share other's views (from different threads), that UA made a mistake putting a galley between the two BF cabins. It detracts from the overall experience and has the BF section cut into two parts with lots of busy FA activity right in the middle. I understand that there has to be a break mid-cabin due to the entry doors, but I feel they have lost the opportunity to have a sleek looking bf cabin on the 787. The current set-up is very cluttered, busy, and noisy (two galleys for 36 seats). I assume the galley could have been larger in the front to accommodate the entire BF service? Someone else has commented that ANA do not break up the J cabin on their 787 with a galley in the middle (is that true?) and that the physical appearance is much less cluttered and more physically appealing than what we see on UA.
