this happened to me with Hertz at LAX as well. I didnt cancel my reservation and they showed I picked up the car and drove it for 75miles with a $40 gas charge. I called customer service and complained, proving I never picked up the car. After countless emails and long wait times, I finally gave up and called my credit card to dispute the charges. A month later, Hertz collections calls me and tells me I owe them money. After contacting the local branch (which was an absolute PITA), they finally reversed the chargers and admitted a mistake. Sadly, this was my first rental after getting a match to 5* from AvisFirst.
