I've seen the bookshelves in hotel lounges on occasion. That's also where I'm most likely to leave a finished magazine. The ones I tend to take on trips are the Economist, Atlantic, and Wired...figure those have pretty broad appeal if I'm in any sort of lounge well-populated by English speakers.
