The guy is asking if there is any way to get his existing paid fare lock changed to hold the new lower priced ticket so that he may buy it later - I do not know the answer to this, but assume that it is worth calling reservations and asking.

It is obvious that he can buy at the lower price to-day - but he wants to buy at the lower price some days into the future and has paid out good money for the fare lock.
