First of all, I don't think you need to be utterly concerned. The seats are fairly private and if you raise the partition between the seats (on both the A380 and the 777), it is fairly difficult to reach over to your neighbor - if that is your primary concern.
What flight are you doing on the JFK-DXB leg - 202 or 204? And, is your return leg before 31-Dec-12? From 1-Jan-2013, 204 gets upguaged to an A380 - the benefit of an A380 is that all seats have aisle access and seats A, B, D, G, J, or K are more like individual seats. Even on seats E and F, if you raise the partition between the two seats, then you can't really see your neighbor at all.
Let us know your flight numbers and seats and I can try to offer some more suggestions. There are a couple of seats that are actually blocked by EK that are released at the airport and you can try to grab these at check-in. Alternately, if nothing else works, just ask anyone for a change of seat - most folks would be willing to oblige and I don't think there that much cause for worry.
