Maybe offer a few of his favorite treats as he enters the elevator? We used cat treats quite a bit when our felines first started traveling. Now nothing phases them. During our last long distance trip, one cat even got used to sightseeing in his feline stroller, and he's our shy guy. Just a few cat treats in the stroller and he hops right in.
He is a rescue dog, and had been abused before he ended up at the shelter. When he encounters something new--new people, a new situation, a new area, he doesn't want treats initially, until he can see that it's "safe."
I'd hoped he'd pick up on Cobaka's lack of fear with the elevator, but while she thinks it's great fun, he thinks it's scary. I will try the treats though, to see if perhaps that helps him, even if he doesn't want them, but just having them available to him.
