Why so, You have every right to leave the Terminal till you board the aircraft (You can do that after that also, but relatively complex).

What if your plans change / Connecting flight cancelled / Etc.

I did it many a times - The CSIF will ask you why - Give a reason.

Note: I do not support faking the printout, but want to point out that you can leave the terminal.
