No, you are not fine if already ticketed, according to my inquiry at Delta. And it all boils down to whether you have one ticket or not. Even 2 tickets on an airline alliance partner won't be interlined.

Just what we need are longer TSA lines, right?

Think about the people who already have booked tickets and don't read FT. How many will miss their connections?
