Hi everyone, I am new to the forum here and really seeking advice and opinions on new luggage. I am looking to get a new complete set of luggage. Two large size, one medium and one international carry on.

I have done research on Tumi and Rimowa. As much as I like how Rimowa looks, I just can't seem to convince myself that they will be functional for what I want or durable. So finally deciding between the Tumi Alpha, Alpha lite and Tegra Lite lines.

I think I am leaning towards the standard Alpha due to purely it looks indestructible. Tegra lite and Alpha Lite look nice but everything feels a bit flimsy and the hard shape makes me think it was get bent out of shape in the long run. I want these luggages to last 10+ years.

Therefore I am focusing on getting:
(1) Alpha Wheeled Expandable Short Trip
(2) Alpha Wheeled Expandable Medium Trip (I think the extended trip is too big)
(3) Alpha Large Wheeled Split Duffle
(4) Alpha International Zippered Expandable Carry On

My only worry is that while the Alpha line is so well built and looks like it will last years upon years...they are also quite heavy. With 50lbs limit these days this may be an issue.

How do the Alpha luggages weigh compared to similar suitcases? Any help from people that have these suitcases would be solo helpful
