Hello All,

The OP here.
In the interest of having the facts laid out, as some replies are assuming that reciprocity fees were trying to be avoided, etc., that AA has no way of knowing place of birth, etc..

1. Argentinean born persons are exempt of the $140 reciprocity fee.
(no money was saved)
2. Entry and exit with US passport. Arg passport was long expired.
3. US passports do list place of birth.
4. I asked AA for help, AA then assisted. They could as well have said.. ' you are on your own on this one, buddy..'
5. Passport control was not going to help w/ issue of 1 pax airside and 1 pax non airside.
6. AA rebooked all flights without my request. They did this even before showing up at passport control. Thanks AA for being proactive - but it would pay in the future for AA to check facts of situation then rebook - Either pax could have well chosen not to fly..or fly in alternate flights.
7. Passport fees of new passport at airport are approx 1350AR$ 280USD

Yes, the buck stops at the passport holder...
Am I seeking any compensation from AA?

What is the meaning of 'Docs OK' in AA's view? - we don't know, but we can safely assume it is 'passport expiration date seems valid', any assumption beyond that is not AA's responsibility.

I appreciate the replies so far, and as I thought this would be a good topic.
Hey, if we can discuss pre-departure drinks, or inop powerports in FT ; we don't see many 'Docs OK' threads. ;-)

I'll probably read the thread as it evolves, but do less postings as OP.
