The value of points is even more interesting now that Carlson has come out with a credit card with an 85k bonus. If I valued the bonus based on an airline transfer that would be less than 11k frequent flyer miles. Obviously not good compared to other options. However, if I value the points at .5 cents, then it's a $400 bonus.
