Guys/Gals:

you are over complicating this. Keep it simple:

1. Nationality/Country of birth on a US passport can easily be pulled down with the passport number....as long as this database (USCIS) has it. It does not matter if you have old/new/rfid type passport. So, yes, software can easily take care of this

2. I'm not suggesting for AA (or any other airline) to be an immigration/emigration expert, simply ask for the additional passport if automated check requires, visual confirmation that this local passport is valid (i.e. expiration date), then print BP with " docs ok", and let the experts down the hall deal with the details.

Why would airlines want to do this if they haven't before and no is asking them to do it?? no guesses here. I did say on my first post this is a takeaway (i.e. food for thought).

Why not create employment if you can get someone to fund it. Manny IT projects are created on the basis of tweaking exiting technology and enhance the experience

OP, my arguments does not entitle you of any compensation btw. live and learn.
