Ive stayed at a good amount of Hilton properties and I would say the DoubleTrees have been my favorite. Hiltons seem to be very run down, Hilton Garden Inns are NEVER updated and always have that nasty green carpet, and Embassy's are usually pretty nasty and run down as well. All of the Hampton's I have stayed at except for one have been clean updated and very consistent with one another so they come close second but EVERY DoubleTree has been a very modern clean boutique like hotel and i have loved them. I have seen photos of some pretty old ones but one of the main things you need to look for when looking at DoubleTrees is if the logo on the building has been changed to the New logo. The DoubleTree brand has gone through a lot of wonderful changes in recent years and it trying to be more of a modern eco friendly hotel with a very natural look. If you ever get the chance check out the DoubleTree in times square, its truly beautiful and one of the only all suites hotels in Manhattan. Also if you ever have to go to Akron, OH for business, the DoubleTree in the Fairlawn/Akron area is ranked 8th in the WORLD and is a very beautiful little hotel, with the nicest most down to earth front desk staff EVER.
