Even if it is not selling well, DL may have a plane cabin go out 90%+ empty, while completely white-outing the awards (no award seats available, not at low, not at mid and not even at high - that is when it appears as white on award calendar, and I use the term "white-out" as DL claims it has no blackout dates). I've seen that happen numerous times. For 11 months no award seat opened up (or may be just one), otherwise completely whited out, but the flight cabin goes out almost empty.
