Through the lower part of Connecticut, if you go that way, you would be better driving on the Merritt Parkway from Greenwich to Milford. That may help a bit in that area, but again it's going to depend on what the construction patterns are then. Once you come over one of the bridges take the Hutchinson River Parkway to the Merritt and follow that to the connector to 95 in Milford. You could also stay on the Merritt (actually it's called the Wilbur Cross up there) to Hartford, pick up 84, and follow that to the Mass Pike. You never touch 95 that way.

If I were you I would consider avoiding that part of the trip entirely.

Come over one of the bridges, and take 684 north to Brewster, and then pick up 84. Take 84 across Connecticut to the Mass Turnpike, and pick up 95 and head south to the hotel.

It's a few more miles, but it avoids some of the hassles involved on 95
