Sure, bound to happen. Give consumers what they want.

People want Walmart-Costo airfares. Most do not care about Executive class, lounges. The proof lies in Westjet's 50%+ domestic market share.

They cram into 29" seat pitch Sunwing and Transat planes, to the sun destinations. It's full.
Airports are full of flipflop-clad VBITs. Flying's style and mystique years ago disappeard.

So what we have here is largely a bunch of FFs looking to snag J upgrades based upon their E/E+ spend.


If you want a premium airline feel free to start one. But first, google search for Maxjet, Silverjet, and others. Each lasted a few years and blew up.
AC's seen the light with their attempted lo-cost airline.

A tiny nation like Canada can support at best a few paid J seats. Think of it: our 34 million people is far far fewer than most world cities' popuation. We're a gnat.
