I dont have any experience with this, but going on experience when a card is lost/stolen and they reissue a new card, the balance from the old card is transferred. So you should receive 'credit' for the $2k on the old card, if for some reason you do not receive your bonus, it might require that you contact Amex to have it manually adjustment once you've met the minimum spend.
