The old fort is now a museum dedicated to the recent war and provides a fascinating glimpse into the fighting that occurred just down the hill and not too long ago. There are news videos of the fighting and shelling of the old town.

If you read my trip report in the Hilton forum, you can read about some of the restaurants we enjoyed. I wouldn't miss Komarda in Dubrovnik. Ask the concierge at the Hilton to book a table and you will get one with a great view.

In Podstrana, there is another wonderful restaurant in the Marina called, Leonis.
I have read your other posts on the Hilton Dubrovnik thread - I loved your post and I have a short cut to the thread and check daily to see if there are updates. Your efforts to post the pictures were the most useful we've seen for us because we're doing pretty much the same as you and staying in the same hotel. I loved your pictures which were really appreciated and you and your lovely wife looked so happy we plan to follow in your tracks .... in particular Komarda. The only thing I didn't like was seeing the pack of Marlborough in the kitchen by the fish ...... but I guess they all smoke in the kitchen .....

We've visited the museam and enjoyed it. Sadly the cable car is off limits for the vertigo reasons associated with the drive.

Thanks for your help both here and in the other thread.
