Absolutely do the cable car in Dubrovnik. Watch the weather and if it is not cloudy or foggy, seize the opportunity and go! The clouds can move in quickly so if there is a window of opportunity, grab it. Better yet, allow time for a drink and the outside bar and just enjoy the view. The old fort is now a museum dedicated to the recent war and provides a fascinating glimpse into the fighting that occurred just down the hill and not too long ago. There are news videos of the fighting and shelling of the old town.

If you read my trip report in the Hilton forum, you can read about some of the restaurants we enjoyed. I wouldn't miss Komarda in Dubrovnik. Ask the concierge at the Hilton to book a table and you will get one with a great view.

In Podstrana, there is another wonderful restaurant in the Marina called, Leonis.
