Yep! ^ It's less than a 24 hour stopover. It's already purchased as a coach ticket, just considering the upgrade.
Row 2 and 3 are generally the best. Row 1 is a bulkhead, so you can't store anything in front of you during takeoff and landing, and you are close the galley and bathroom. Some people prefer this.
Row 4 is usually fine, but you are one row in front of coach, and there is no bulkhead divider between coach and first on the majority of Alaska 737s. There are now a couple with a lavatory right behind row 4 on the left side of the plane, so that could be another reason to choose 2 or 3, but I don't believe they have been flying them on any of the Hawaii routes.
So in conclusion, 2 or 3 are my preference. Hope this helps, and have a great trip! First is definitely much nicer than coach for that long of a travel day. And the service in Alaska's first class cabin particularly to and from Hawaiian destinations is always amazing.
