We did it with our last AS Visa companion fare and will do it with our remaining one. It's what everyone went ballistic over losing. And from our market (EUG) the Hawaii F was a little less than any East Coast cities, so that helped, too.

Now, it's not a lay-flat seat or anything really spiffy, but it's of course better than coach. However, since it's not "fabulous" I hope you don't run the risk of your husband saying "see I told you so" .

Are you sure you can break it up with an overnight at PDX?
