It's one thing to be standing there while someone digs around in your carryon while you're standing there watching them. It's completely another to realize after the fact that some anonymous clerk was pawing through my dirty clothes.
Please join the crowd at LHR where there are so many secondary searches on carry-on items, you will see more used underwear than your stomach can handle.

The LHR carry-on secondary search frenzy is one reason I sometimes consider to do check my luggage, but then again, it is so much fun to use Global Entry on arrival in the US and be outside the airport in minutes. For now I find it more frustrating to breeze through customs and security and then have to wait for luggage at the carousel, than endure the secondary inspection of my carry-on. As usual YMMV.
