Unless I'm missing something, the T&C on that page very clearly say:-
Discount is valid on the total roundtrip purchase price, including taxes, fees and surcharges, of mainline flights operated by British Airways. Discount is not valid for flights on code share or franchise carriers.
If the problem with the last flight is that it's taking you from the BA gateway on to another US destination to which BA does not itself fly, then one solution would be to buy the BA ticket to start and finish at the gateway, and then buy a separate ticket for the domestic sectors.
