Just don't do what I did in a similar situation - When I got to the transfer desk at SYD I ripped off the lugguage tag! I had asked for my flights to be linked, more so for delay protection, but hadn't realised the tag was printed out to BNE. They just reprinted me a new one along with my boarding pass.
