You can buy a SIM card adapter and use the micro-SIM. I have tried it with a 3GS. It's not a problem at all. I bought it on eBay for like 2USD shipped and they must be dirt cheap in HK.

You do need to manually type in the APN (peoples.net) on the iPhone with a China Mobile SIM card, because it is not an official iPhone network.
