The article you linked is one person's opinion, with some (dated) figures quoted, but no reference to any scientific survey.
I based my comments on my perception, acquired from the number of US-based people who post on chat groups with the suggestion to sue.
Just as a theoretical question, just what do you suggest the airlines could have done to get the woman in question home to the USA? And (without presenting ridiculous arguments) how would you have done it?
