Determining if a flight is thru or new origin

Please bear with me guys/gals as I am not normally a SW flier but that will be changing. On other carrier's sites, I can enter in a flight # and see whether or not it's part of a larger flight plan or a new one. I can't seem to do that on SW.com. Am I missing something? I'd like to know if a certain flight is a thru flight because that (maybe just in MY mind) will help me guess how many people will be preboarding and whether buying Business is worth it for a shot at a premium seat.
If that doesn't make sense, here's an example.
12/14 Flight 3842 is LAS to PVD. In my mind, I'd spend the extra $ for a BS seat if this was a "new origin" because my shot at an exit row or bulkhead was very good. But if this was a "thru flight" and 30 people would be sitting on the plane by the time preboard started, I'd save my money and buy a Wanna.
Any insight would be most appreciated!
