It's odd, I'm trying to book a ticket for February, and although (i) the fares are loaded into the GDS, (ii) one can apparently make reservations by calling CX or KA direclty and (iii) I can even make an online reward reservation through BA using Avios points, the tickets are not currently for sale through online agencies or through the CX or KA websites. I wonder if there is currently some restriction in place governing online sales due to the service still being subject to governmental approval?
Some time after CCU was announced, I wrote to CX in India asking why tickets were not being sold, and they said that in fact they
were available from CX Indian booking offices. They gave me a date when tickets would be available online; this turned out to be wrong, it took longer. At one stage they were available from third party web sites, but not from KA or CX. Apparently this is just how they do it.
