SABRE has run AA and other airlines for decades, both when AA owned it and after they foolishly sold it. And it is not like SABRE people don't speak español; there is a huge Sabre Holdings center here in Montevideo at Zonamerica.
I suspect the problem is with LAN. And to be fair, anytime an airline changes platform, it always goes far worse than anybody expected or announced. Look at the hilarity still going on with the new United from the switch to a bigger instance of Continental's platform back on 3/3/2012. I was a regular NW flyer when DL merged NW and put everything on DL's system except the PMNW rebranded loyalty platform. That didn't go too well either. Nor did US Airways converting onto the pre-merger America West platform.
Come back in a couple of years. It will all be better.
