I contacted the hotel from their page on Hyatt.com and explained the problem. The mistake was fixed within just a few hours. Except for a momentary scare when I discovered the error, all is now well.

Total bill was approx. $47. Server said that because Travelzoo certificate was $45 and the bill was $47, they would just comp the $2 balance. I asked if they could bring me a bill anyway so I could charge the tip. Server said they cannot accept a charged tip on a zero bill. I left a $10 tip in cash. I did receive a receipt (which alas I did not keep) showing approx $47 in charges, the same amount paid, and zero balance due.
Imagine my shock and surprise when I checked my account the next day. I discovered that the restaurant had removed TWELVE THOUSAND POINTS from my account!
I phoned Hyatt Gold Passport. They said the only way to straighten out the mistake is to contact the restaurant.
I hate to be a pessimist but I'm not expecting a happy ending (as I did not retain the receipt). Has anyone else had a similar experience, hopefully with a happy ending?
