Did the switch to Sabre mean a better service for us??
I know there is a "LAN GDS Switch to SABRE SEP 2012" with posts about that huge change, but I think the problems after the change are far over. It's been 2 months, but Lan.com has not been the same. This is a thread about how bad is lan.com nowadays, though I wonder if the Sabre change is related to.
As I said, I didn't have any problem in the past, maybe some specific issue once, but now I can say I never have a satisfaying service.
In october I bought tickets to Cusco and even tough my rates included seat selection, I couldn't. I have to call the hatefull call center.
Last sunday I tried to buy a lantour package, flight+hotel. But after process and select the options, it never showed me the payment code, I tried 3 times, no success. I gave up. Ironically I received an email with the payment codes.. 4 hours later, when I was already sleeping and exceeded the deadline.
Today I bought a domestic flight, and I could pay it, but never received the email reserve confirmation, nor the e-ticket. However the process was complete cause 2 hours later I could theck the e-ticket in lan.com with the reservation code. The email with the reservation confirmation came 8 hours later (and theorically I'm still waiting for the e-ticket email). In this case the return flight admits seat selection. But guess what... again that stupid rotating circle after clicking in the seat map and never got the confirmation. It's 6pm, peak hour, and that stupid call center just said to me.. "su llamada es importante..". Yeah, I can see how important is my call.
I really miss when lan.com didn't give me bad times.
