FYI, don't expect to ever have reserved seats with QR, as their T&C's cleary state they may move your seats. I make it a habit to check my reservation, when manage my booking is working, a couple weeks before I fly to see if my seats have been moved. It has happend a couple of times.

I have been on a few flights where they have split up families then leave it up to the poor flight attendents to try and short before take-off.
