I am truly surprised at how the service level has declined at this hotel, from front desk staff to club staff, there is clearly an attitude shift.

It's difficult for others to assess the validity of what you say with so little information, assuming that your intention was to get comments. Many of us, including me, do not believe this hotel is poorly run so detailing your situation concisely would be helpful. Also helpful is knowing who you contacted at both the time of your stay and since within management and their responses.

Booked suite on passport award. Was told "you will be more comfortable in a connnecting room". Told "we wont even charge you anymore"

Will never stay here. Every trip back has been WONDERFUL at the Marriott County Hall/Andaz. Will never step foot in the hotel again.
