This way I can just keep reading my book or magazine until almost everyone else has got off rather than hanging around standing at the carousel.

However I understand that sometimes crew bags and safety equipment are stored at the back and that UM are accommodated there.

So I have three questions:
(i) Is there plenty of overhead bin space at the back?
(ii) If so, should I sit almost right at the back or 5, 10 or more rows ahead to secure OHSC space?
(iii) Is there any risk of seat shifting at the back, e.g. due to equipment change or requirements to accommodate UM?

MMB tells me that the aircraft is an A319 and has 27 rows. Back rows are wide open apart from 26 DEF and 27 DEF reserved for UM.

Many thanks in advance!

If there are 27 rows then you are on an A320. The 319 only has 22 rows.
