I did a search but could not find the information regarding my question.

I am booking a flight to Hawaii with one stop. The first is a UA flight, the second appears to be a codeshare operated by US Airways. My wife has the United Mileage Explorer Card, so we should get the bags initially checked for free, I am wondering will we get hit with bag fees on the second leg since US Airways is non-UA? Theoretically the bags should transfer and I assume that there will be no fee, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
