Very sorry you recently had to wait for your room. It does become very difficult to fulfil 8am check in when the hotel is at full occupancy and guests are entitled to stay in their rooms till 11am check out time. During the past 6 weeks or more, InterContinental Sydney has been fully booked most nights with exception of Sunday nights. We cannot ask guests to depart at 6am enabling us to prepare rooms for Ambassador early check in at 8am. This does cause a problem and we do our very best to provide the correct room type as soon as available. Hence permitting Royal Ambassadors early club access to enjoy if we cannot provide their room or another room in the interim.
Being the only InterContinental in NSW, we daily have many Ambassadors arriving for their 8am check in which can be a challenge.
Again our sincerest apologies and I do hope other than the delayed check in that your stay in Sydney was enjoyable.
