Phone fee for changing American Airlines redemptions which cant be changed online?
Normally I have not had a problem getting the BA call centre to waive £15 phone booking fees for redemptions that cannot be booked online - open jaw 241 etc.
However I recently had to change an American Airlines redemption - functionality was not possible online which directs you to call centre but despite speaking to a supervisor could not get the phone channel fee waived.
Does anyone know if this is correct - excuse given was that American Airlines functionality not designed for this which in my opinion was a reason to waive the fee not charge it!
Also my girlfriend is a gold card holder but the tickets were booked from my account and I am blue. Should I have expected to get the phone and change fee waived for her or is her status overriden by the miles having come from my account?
