So, it's a violation to go LAX-NRT-PPT-HKG but LAX-PPT-HKG may be OK.

The rules also seem to say Air Pacific is always OK, but Air Tahiti Nui is only OK if a QF code.

It looks like (from EF) the TN LAX-PPT flight may be bookable as AA or QF, although I don't know if I'd earn full AA EAQ/EQM on a QF coded TN operated flight. And the TN flight in J doesn't seem near as nice as an AA in J, not to mention AA upgraded to F (if still available to NRT)
