Seems odd the first and last service would be only breakfast-themed despite the departue and arrival times. Most airlines try to offer something from both origin and destination points at the meal time.
Don't know about JFK-HND but CX seems to give preference to the origin point time zone in many cases. There evening HKG-JFK departures for example serve breakfast before arrival in NYC at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. respectfully. Its an obnoxious downside to an otherwise very nice flight.
