No, the opposite, LHR is pulling off on a daily basis a massive feat of logistics in light of the fact it runs so very close to its maximum capacity, has only got two runways and faces unique constraints because of its physical space limitations.

It's actually a lot to do with the fact that the UK was the first country in the world to have rail, which means its infrastructure is constraint by historic choices + reluctance to concrete over large parts of the country side to put high speed rail track.

I'm all for more high speed rail in the UK, but the realities of the German and French situations are just very different.
