Arrow Sheraton Asuncion Hotel, Paraguay [Master Thread]

Seeing as there hasn't been much in the way of reports from this outpost, figured I'd chime in.

Staying here right now on a c+p rate of 2800 SPG pts and $45USD per night, which I think is very good value. Cash rate was in the $150 range so about 3.5 c per SPG pt.

Location is good, not in "downtown" but in a safe, upscale neighborhood (there's a Porsche dealership right next door). There's also a pretty decent mall, Shopping Del Sol, literally across the street.

Club Lounge has breakfast and evening snacks. Tonight there was some generic mediocre mini egg rolls, solid if unspectacular chicken nuggets and some outstanding seasoned beef medallions. Spoke to the attendant and she said the beef was Paraguayan...count me impressed. As for lounge drinks, choice of wines and soft drinks and bottled water, staffed by a very friendly young lady who spoke excellent english. Nothing over-the-top about the lounge but very nice and comfortable. Was there for over an hour and only saw one other couple the entire time I was there. Also has some computer workstations.

Rooms are nice, what you'd expect from a Sheraton. I was upgraded as a SPG to a club floor room (not a suite), which I was fine with seeing as the hotel is totally sold out this weekend. Room is very spacious, although the bathroom is a bit small but the marble finishes are nice. Excellent water pressure in the shower. TV has over 100+ channels including all the US-based stuff we're used to (ESPN, HBO, Cartoon Network even!) and was a new Sony flatscreen. Had an issue working the TV and inquired on my way out during the afternoon and when I returned it was fixed. There was also a nice complimentary bottle of malbec waiting for me.

Front desk staff speaks very good English and are genuinely helpful...they set-up an airport pick-up with the hotel's driver...more expensive than doing it on your own, but worth $33USD for the peace of mind and the driver was waiting for me when I arrived.

Top floor has a nice outdoor pool and spa and restaurant but was raining when I was up there so not much going on.

All in all quite impressed, have stayed at the Hilton Buenos Aires and Sheraton Rio and think this hotel compares very favorably.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, I'm here another two nights.
